
Athletic Wrap-up
🎾 Modified tennis had their home opener last night and tied LeRoy 3-3. Singles winner was Trenten Gavlak. Doubles winners were Olivia Smith, Morgan Fisher, Carter Breu, Leah Whittel, Gianna Brown, and Tyrese Rosser.
🏌️ Varsity golf won against Hornell but lost against Addison last night away in Hornell. Scores were Addison 170. Livonia 185, and Hornell 197. Tommy Keysa was low man for Livonia with a score of 39 losing out to Addison's Ryan Thompson by only one stroke.
⚾ Varsity Baseball beat LeRoy 10-5. Conner Benitez pitched 5 innings allowing 4 hits while striking out 7. Jack Kearney went 3 for 5 with 3 doubles and 3 RBI. Jack also pitched the final 2 innings to pick up the save. Livonia scored 4 runs in the 3rd and 4 more in the sixth to seal the game. Wyatt Raponi went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and Brady O'Keefe had 2 hits for the Bulldogs who move to 4-5 on the season.
🏃 Two Big wins last night for the BOTH the Boys and Girls Varsity Track Teams against Hornell. Event winners for the girls were, Avery Bernard in the 100 hurdles, Kaitlyn Keiffer in both shot put and discus, Emily Foley in both Pole Vault and the 1500, Angela Tweksbury in the long jump, Belle Vinci in the 100 and Carly Lang in the 3000. Event winners for the boys were Matt Connor, with a personal record, in the 400 hurdles, Keegan Dennis in the high jump, James Spezzano in the 400 with an impressive performance. The freshman boys also swept the board in the 3200 relay to take first place. The teams will compete this Saturday at Warsaw for the Warsaw Invitational.
🥍 The varsity girls lacrosse team beat Gananda/Marion 12-7 Tuesday night. After losing to Pal-Mac (12-1) on Monday, the lady bulldogs were able to bounce back and work together to advance their record to 3-6.
After being tied 5-5 at the end of the first half, the Bulldogs won the second half by outscoring Gananda 7-2. Leading the team in goals was Maryn Gammon with 4, followed by Kylie Buckley with 3 and Megan Carr with 2. Leading the team in draw controls was Sidney Clickner with 5, followed by Anna Cinquino, Kylie Buckley and Lila Meyers each with 2. Defensively, the team was able to keep Gananda under 10 goals due to causing 5 turnovers and working as a unit for the full 50 minutes. In the cage, Courtney Schirtz and Mia Martucio split goal time.Courtney made 5 saves and let in 5 goals, while Mia made 6 saves and allowed in 2 goals.

The girls varsity lacrosse team returns home this Saturday April 30th to play Eastridge during their first annual "Lacrosse Day." All teams from the Livingston Lacrosse Club and both Livonia/Avon girls scholastic teams will be playing from 10:00AM-3:00PM.
🥎 On Monday, April 25th, the JV Orange Team traveled to Bloomfield and won their first game of the season by the score of 13-7! Chloe Meys pitched a very strong game and struckout 12 batters. Alaina Turek had a strong game at second base and threw 4 players out. At the plate; Morgan Meys went 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI, Chloe Meys went 2 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBIs, Karly Lawton went 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs, and Emma King 1 for 4 with 2 RBIs! It was a great day for softball and all of the girls did a fantastic job!

⛳ The Varsity Golf team is on a roll winning against Dansville last night at Brae Burn with a score of 174-256. Congrats to Chas Doerflinger for beating out the competition and scoring a 41, Tommy Keysa came in second with a score of 43, and Chris Coyle and Zach Bernard tied for third with 45s.
🥍 After a long layoff the Boys Varsity Lakers finally got back to action as they traveled up to Webster Schroeder to take on the Warriors last Wednesday. After a back and forth first half which had both teams knotted at 5, the Warriors controlled play on the way to a 16-9 win, dropping the Lakers record to 2-2. 7 different Lakers found the scoring column as Shane Melead (2 goals, 3 assists) and Jackson McEnerney (3 goals, 1 assist) led the way.

🥍 On Saturday the Boys Varsity Lakers travelled down 5&20 to meet up with the Marcus Whitman Wildcats in a potential Class D preview. The Wildcats would find themselves on the scoreboard first, but the Lakers would score the next 11 goals to coast to a 17-4 victory. During that 11 goal run Jackson McEnerney scored 4 times, Justin Skelly 3 times and Derrick Wigley twice. The defense created problems all day for Whitman as they forced 10 turnovers, led by Owen Weterrings 2. On the Lakers second goal Matt Connor recorded an assist that puts him first all time for Lakers assists! Congrats Matt.

Weekend Wrap-up
🏃 On Thursday, April 21st, both the Boys and Girls Varsity Track Teams competed against Dansville. Although both teams came up short on the scoreboard, all our athletes represented Livonia well. Event winners for the Bulldogs were James Spezzano in the 400, Avery Bernard in the 100 hurdles, Kaitlyn Keiffer in shot put, Reagan Sykes in high jump, Emily Foley in pole vault, and Angela Tewksbury in triple jump. Other point scorers for the team were Matthew Conner, Silas Meadows, Hunter Otis, Niko Williams, Matthew Charlebois, Luke Lawton, Anthony Lippert, TJ Gause, Aiden Kelly, Bella Vinci, Grace Buys, Blair Wallman, Isabelle Eirick, and Cadence Chapman. The teams will next compete when they travel to Hornell next Tuesday. WE BELIEVE!
🥍 Girls varsity lacrosse lost a tough battle to Mynderse-Romulus Friday night. At half, the Lady Bulldogs were only down by 2 goals. Despite coming up 6 goals short at the end of the game, the team worked hard as a unit on offense and four different girls got on the board with goals for the Bulldogs. Junior, Lila Meyers, led the bulldogs in goals with 3 and 1 assist for the game. Eighth grader Maddie Whitford scored her first career goal as a member of the varsity lacrosse team. On the defensive end, sophomore Catilynn Haugh had a stand out performance, accompanied by seniors Paige Ryan, Sabrina Adamson and Sara Perdue. Defensively, the team tallied 6 caused-turnovers and put up a strong fight against Mydnerse's aggressive attack. In goal for the Bulldogs was junior Mia Martucio, making 5 saves.

⛳ Varsity Golf beat LeRoy last night 173-193. Congrats to Chaz Doerflinger and Tom Keysa who tied for first with a 9 hole round of 40 (along with LeRoy's Brady Fix).
🥎 The JV Orange softball team traveled last night to face a good CalMum program and fought hard, but came up short on the 6-13 loss. Chloe Meys pitched a complete game with 7 strikeouts. McKenna Collins got on base 4 times and scored 2 runs for Livonia. Morgan Meys was 2 for 4 with a blast into center field. Alaina Turek, Emma King, Kiera Wilson and Karly Lawton all scored as well. Catch the next home game on Saturday vs. Letchworth at 10am!

⚾ Varsity Baseball beat Dansville 4-3 last night. Conner Benitez pitched 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 hits striking out 5 and walking 6. Tied 2-2 in the top of the fifth, Alex Benitez would hit a 2 run single to put the Bulldogs up 4-2. Connor Feehan came on in relief in the sixth with the bases loaded and 2 outs he would strike out Aiden Ziefel to end the threat. In the bottom of the 7th, Dansville would have the tying run at first base but a soft line drive back to the pitcher and a quick throw to first base to double off Mason Mann to end the game. Tom Stewart went 2 for 3 for the Bulldogs. That was the Bulldogs 3rd straight win.


Lakers Hockey in the news!
🏒 Congratulations to Shane M., Christian R. (Avon) and AJ A. (Geneseo) on their invitation to play in this year's Scotty Bowman Showcase taking place on Wednesday, April 27th at KeyBank Center. The Buffalo Sabres are proud to host this event, honoring Buffalo and Rochester’s best high school aged hockey players.
The Scotty Bowman Showcase will consist of three games. The first game will begin at 5pm with high school juniors from the two cities facing off against one another for the Tim Horton Memorial Cup (Christian's game). The next game will take place at 7pm between high school seniors from each city. The winner of the second game will be awarded the Scotty Bowman Cup (Shane & AJ's game). The third game will feature players from Buffalo and Rochester who play prep school or junior hockey, either locally or elsewhere. These players will face off for the Rick Martin Memorial Cup at 9pm. All three games will consist of two 22-minute halves.


Sharing as a community partner. Family free swim is back Mondays and Fridays from 7-8 PM. There will also be one lane available for lap swimming. If you have questions please reach out to Craig Emmerling, this is a Town of Livonia program not a school program.


Spring Break Wrap-up
The Bulldogs traveled to Myrtle Beach for their annual spring trip. In game one, the Bulldogs would get beaten by Otsego Ohio 15-0. In game 2, Livonia would oust Geneseo by the score of 9-7. Connor Benitez went 5 plus innings striking out 11 and going 1 for 2 with 2 rbis. Connor Feehan pitched the final 1 and 2/3 innings recording his first varsity save.
The Bulldogs ended their annual spring baseball trip by upending Madison, Ohio 14 to 12. Leading 12 to 3 heading into the 5th inning, the bulldogs would commit 4 errors to allow 6 runs making it 12 to 9. Leading 14 to 12 in the top of the seventh Madison had the bases loaded with one out, new pitcher Jack Kearney would spare a line drive back to him and throw to first to complete a doubleplay. Jack went 3 for 4 with 2 rbi, Wyatt Raponi went 3 for 4 with 2 rbi and Conner Benitez went 2 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 2 Rbi. The Bulldogs would finish 2 and 1 in Myrtle Beach. "Sloppy game played by both teams, but credit goes to our kids who hung tough through some tough times. We played a lot of baseball this week in some gorgeous weather. Wednesday night Wrap-Up
⚾ Varsity baseball lost to Hornell 4 - 3. Connor Feehan singled in Jake Watkins in the bottom of the 6th to tie the score at 3-3. Wyatt Raponi doubled with 2 outs and Watkins pinch ran for him. In the top of the 7th with 2 outs, Hornells Jake Ponticello doubled in Griffyn Baker from first off of new pitcher Jack Kearney.
Connor Benitez pitched 6 innings striking out 9 and walking 2 allowing 4 hits. Connor also had 2 hits to lead the Bulldogs.

⚾ Varsity Baseball lost to Bath 7-2. Trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Bath would plate 3 runs with 2 outs led by an Aj Bratz triple followed by run scoring singles by Zack Musso and a double by Gavin Buckley driving in 2.
Brady O' Keefe led Livonia going 2 for 3 with a walk.

🥍 Girls Varsity Lacrosse lost to Geneva 15-7
🥍 The Lakers Varsity boys lacrosse team lost a tough non-league matchup against one of the top Class C schools in Section V this past Friday evening, losing to Pal-Mac by a score of 8-7. The Lakers were sluggish to start the game, falling behind 3-0 after the first quarter and 5-1 at the half. Goalie Matthew Beachel kept his team in the game during that sluggish first half as he made 11 of his season high 14 saves. Jackson McEnerney had the Lakers lone goal in the second quarter.
The boys started to turn things around in the second half, outscoring the Red Raiders by a score of 3-2 with Shane Melead, Josh Schirtz and Matthew Connor all having goals to make the score 7-4 after 3 quarters. The defense continued to get stronger as the game progressed with Jon Crye, Michael Neckers, Alex Mayen, Colby Percey and Austin Randolph increased their defensive pressure and made things uncomfortable for the Pal-Mac offense.
Matthew Connor scored his second of the game just over a minute into the 4th quarter which helped turn the momentum in the favor of the Lakers. Three minutes later, Justin Skelly scored on an extra-man advantage, followed by Derrick Wigley forcing a tie just 70 seconds later. However, Pal-Mac won the ensuing faceoff and scored the eventual game winner just 20 seconds afterwards. The Lakers did have a number of decent looks over the last few minutes of the game but were unsuccessful in getting one past the Red Raiders goalie to tie it up. With the loss the Lakers fall to 2-1 on the season as they enter a period where they don’t play another game until April 20th.

⚾ Varsity Baseball lost to Avon 8-1. Avon took the lead in the 1st inning after 6 walks from Livonia pitching and no hits. Jack Kearney came in and pitched 2 1/3 innings striking out 2, and walking none to keep the game close. Kearney and Luke Stewart got 2 hits for the Bulldogs."We have walked 20 batters in 2 games, I thought that our pitching would keep us close but not up to this point. 🥍 Girls Varsity Lacrosse secured their second victory of the season in Friday night's home opener against Wayne. Although the weather was frigid, the entire team showed up with high energy right from the start. Anna Cinquino, led the team with 4 draw controls, followed closely by Sidney Clickner with 3 draw controls for Livonia.
The bulldogs were very effective in the attacking end, working together and capitalizing on as many scoring opportunities as possible. Sidney Clickner and Maryn Gammon lead the team with 3 goals each. Kelsey Stewart and Kylie Buckley both tallied one assist for the Bulldogs, waiting for the perfect opportunities to thread the needle for their teammates. Five different athletes were able to get on the board (Buckley, Cinquino, Clickner, Gammon, and Stewart) with a final score of 11-4.
As a whole, the team picked up a total of 23 ground balls, with Maddy King leading the Bulldogs with 3 for the game. On the defensive end, the girls showed up and did their job as a unit just as they've done in the past three games. Sabrina Adamson led the team statistically with 2 ground balls and 1 caused turnover, while the rest of our starting defenders (Ryan, Perdue and Whitford) were all able to tally 1 ground ball for the game. Cami Rode had a stand out game running defensive mid, securing 1 draw control and 2 ground balls, while she worked endlessly and provided consistent support to her teammates all across the field. Mia Martucio started in goal for the bulldogs, making 3 saves, while Courtney Schirtz finished the game making 1 save in net.

⚾ Varsity Baseball lost to Medina 7-2
🥍 Boys Varsity Lacrosse travelled to Bath last night for their second consecutive GRALL matchup of the season, this time coming away with a 20-7 win against the host Haverling Rams. The Lakers started out strong once again as Jackson McEnerney found the back of the net after a feed from Justin Skelly just 80 seconds into the game. The Rams would tie things up less than 2 minutes later, but that’s as close as it would get for the remainder of the game. The Lakers would proceed to score 7 more goals in the quarter, including 6 in just over 3 minutes. Derrick Wigley scored 3 of his game high 6 goals during that scoring outburst.
It was more of the same as the Lakers continued their offensive dominance in the second quarter as they scored the first 6 goals on their way to a halftime lead of 16-4. Solid, physical defense, great ground ball play and solid goaltending kept the Rams in check all game long allowing the Lakers to come away with the big win! The defensive unit, led by Owen Weterrings, Jon Crye, Colby Percey, Austin Randolph, Alec Mayen and Michael Neckers were solid all night, and goalies Matt Beachel and Nic Teachout combined for 6 saves on the evening. The Lakers were all over the field as they collected almost 20 more groundballs than the Rams.

Tuesday Night Wrap-up
🥍 Girls Varsity Lacrosse beat Brockport, 10-9, in an overtime game Tuesday night. The win was a fifty minute battle and a complete team effort. Paige Ryan and Maddie Whitford stood out on the defensive end and were able to keep out some of Brockport's top scorers. On the attacking end, Maryn Gammon led the offense with her patience and capitalized on prime scoring opportunities. As we entered overtime, Livonia's defense was able to shut down Brockport in the first 3 minute overtime period, giving them one more opportunity to get the ball in the attacking end. Eighth grader, Sidney Clickner, came up with a huge draw control to gain possession in the second 3 minute over time period. Once the bulldogs got the ball in the offensive end, junior Kylie Buckley was able to put the ball in the back of the net for the game winning goal.
