What is the Summer Feeding Program? 🤔

Livonia CSD has been approved to provide a summer food service program during the summer of 2024 through the NYS Education Department Food and Nutrition Service. The program offers free breakfast and lunch to students 18 and under, regardless of their school district residency. 🥞🥗

📍 Location: Middle High School Cafeteria
The community entrance is located on the south side of the MHS. Please only enter and exit through the MHS cafeteria.

Times:
🍽️ Breakfast: 8:30 - 9:30 AM
🍽️ Lunch: 10:45 AM - 12:00 PM

All meals must be consumed on-site at the Middle High School. Additional food/meals will NOT be available for purchase this summer.

🔔 Please Note: If your child is attending a summer program, the free meals will be available as outlined below:

  • Summer Skills (MS - Current grades 5-7)
    Hours: 9:00 - 11:30 AM
    🥞 Students will be provided breakfast.
    🍽️ Families are welcome to bring their child(ren) to lunch after the Summer Skills sessions but must supervise their child.
    🥗 IF a child is attending full day (Summer Skills AM & Enrichment Camp PM), they will be provided lunch and supervised between 11:30 - 12:00.

  • Extended School Year (ES)
    Hours: 8:30 - 11:30 AM
    🍽️ Students will be transported to the MHS for lunch Monday-Thursday.
    🥞 Families are welcome to bring their child(ren) to eat breakfast before the Extended School Year sessions but must supervise and transport their child to the Elementary School by 9:00 AM.

  • Extended School Year (MHS)
    Hours: 8:30 - 11:30 AM
    🥞🍽️ Students will be offered both breakfast & lunch (Monday-Thursday).

  • Regents Prep & Credit Recovery (MHS)
    Hours: Varies by student
    🥞🍽️ Students will be offered both breakfast & lunch (Monday-Thursday).

NYS Summer EBT Program

Starting in the summer of 2024, New York State is launching Summer EBT, a new federal program aimed at assisting low-income households with children to buy food during the summer when schools are closed. Below are the links with more details about the program, the application process, and answers to any questions you may have.

Please be aware that the school district or the cafeteria program does not issue P-EBT Benefits. These benefits are issued by the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) of New York. Your school district and Food Service department are unable to provide any support, but we hope the above links can provide the support you need.
