📐 STEM 6 students were given a pipe cleaner tower challenge today. Students had to build the tallest free standing structure they could in 12 minutes. About 4 minutes in, there was an unexpected budget cut, so students could only use one hand to work on their tower for 1 minute. A little later in the challenge, students were not allowed to talk for 1 minute. Students are learning how to work together on team challenges and every group got a tower that was standing at the end of the 12 minutes!

Earlier this morning, the middle/high school went into Shelter-In-Place due to a student needing transport by ambulance. This was not a drill.
Shelter in place was initiated to give our student privacy and allow the EMS personnel to assess the situation and provide aide to the student. Shelter-In-Place means that all outside activities were terminated, students remained in their classrooms, and instruction continued for the duration of the Shelter-In-Place. Once the situation was handled the buildings returned to a regular instructional day.
Thank you to our students and staff for their assistance and flexibility while following our procedures and protocols. If you have any questions, please contact the Middle/High School main office.
