student with lunch

LIVONIA, NY – May 1, 2024 – Livonia Central District proudly announces that breakfast and lunch will be available at no cost to any and all children 18 years of age and under at the Middle/High School cafeteria this summer.

Livonia CSD has been approved to provide a summer food service program during the summer of 2024 through the NYS Education Department Food and Nutrition Service. Earlier this school year, Livonia announced its implementation of a federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP); which allows eligible schools to participate in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge to all students during the school year.

Participation in the CEP during the school year allows the school district to apply for the summer program in order to continue providing free meals through the summer. We are pleased to be able to offer this service through the summer 2024. The program is based on eligibility, and while Livonia has qualified for the 2024 summer, please note that summer food service participation in future school years may depend on continued availability of Federal Funds, State funds, and district eligibility.

It is a requirement that meals are consumed on site and not packaged to-go. All meals will contain a main entree, milk, fruit and/or vegetable. More information including dates and hours of operation will be sent home to families and on the district website when the details are finalized. The summer 2024 food service program will be available to all children 18 years and under regardless of their school district residency.

Questions about the program can be directed to Rebecca Schorer, Food Services Director at Livonia CSD, 585-346-4000 extension 4060.
