🦕🔍 Digging into learning! Mrs. Carman’s PreK class transformed into paleontologists yesterday! These tiny dino experts carefully excavated chocolate chips from cookies using toothpicks—just like real paleontologists working with fossils! 🪶🍪 They had to be gentle and precise, making sure not to break any “fossils” along the way. What a sweet way to learn about science, patience, and fine motor skills!

MHS Spirit Week: Student-Teacher Swap Day! 👟👔 Students came to school dressed like their favorite teachers, and our teachers showed off their best student looks — hoodies, sandals, and sweats included!

📚✨ Author Visit! ✨📚 Today, our Kindergarten through 2nd grade students had the wonderful opportunity to meet Kelly DiPucchio, the bestselling author of over 30 stories like Grace for President and Gaston! 🐶📖 Kelly shared her presentation, "How a Story is Born," and the power of kindness. 💡✍️ Thank you for helping us celebrate the magic of reading and storytelling here at Livonia!

🎓✨ Career Fair Day for Our 4th Graders! ✨🎓 What an awesome opportunity for our students to explore the world of work! This morning, our 4th grade students participated in Career Fair Day, thanks to a fantastic partnership with the Livingston County Area Chamber of Commerce. 💼🌟 Students got to pick three speakers they were most interested in and rotated through classrooms to hear about a variety of careers firsthand. What a great way to connect learning to real-world opportunities! 🔹 10 amazing community members joined us to share insights into their careers, answer questions, and inspire the next generation of professionals! 🙏 A huge THANK YOU to our guest speakers: Ken E. – Cornell Cooperative Extension Kim H. – URMC, Business Deputy Rene & Deputy Bultor – Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Jennifer O. & Donna F. – URMC Nurse Educators Mary E. – Genesee Construction Kelli C. – WCJW Radio Station Robert A. – Barilla Michelle A. – RIT School of Interactive Games and Media The students (and staff!) had an absolute blast and walked away with new ideas and big dreams. 💡🚀

March means Fun Fridays... but also More Fun Mondays at Livonia MHS! Students in grades 6–12 brought the energy today with a school-wide Rock, Paper, Scissors challenge! ✋✊✌️ Throughout the day, students faced off in friendly matches, racking up wins. Anyone with 10 or more victories earned a spot in the sudden-death round. 🥇 After an intense final showdown, the champ was... Maddox W.! Way to go! 👏

On March 17, students attended the GLOW With Your Hands: Healthcare field trip at GCC, where they explored a wide range of careers in the healthcare field. 💡🏥 They experienced hands-on demonstrations from first responders and healthcare professionals, and selected two interactive workshops to dive deeper into specific fields such as: 🦷 Dentistry 🧠 Mental Health 💊 Pharmacy 🐾 Veterinary Science 💼 Healthcare Administration 🏥 Nursing, PT, OT, PA/NP, Radiology, Surgery, Holistic Medicine, Hospice Care, and more! It was a day full of learning, inspiration, and exciting pathways for our future healthcare heroes! 💙🧡

💼✨ Future Leaders in Action! On Wednesday, March 19, student leaders from grades 6-12 represented Livonia at the District 11 Leadership Conference held at FLCC. They heard from nationally known speaker Andy Thibodeau, who shared an inspiring message titled "Make Care Contagious." Our Bulldogs had the chance to connect with peers from other schools, explore leadership strategies, and bring back ideas to help make our school community even stronger! 💡🐾 👏 A special shoutout to Lily S., Matthew P., and Keira W.—members of the NYSCLSA Board—for helping organize this incredible event!

🎭🎨 Fine Arts Friday: Best of Luck to Our Odyssey of the Mind Teams! 🧠💡 This week, we’re celebrating the creative minds behind Livonia’s Odyssey of the Mind teams as they head into competition! We’re proud to have four teams representing Livonia — two from the Elementary School and two from the Middle/High School — competing in the Region 15 Odyssey of the Mind Tournament tomorrow, Saturday, March 22nd! Odyssey of the Mind is where imagination meets innovation. Students write scripts, build props, design costumes, and perform original skits — all while solving complex problems through teamwork and creativity. It’s hands-on, student-led, and totally Bulldog-brilliant! 👏 Good luck to all of our teams as they take the stage and show Region 15 what Bulldog Pride is all about! 🎭 Let the creativity flow and the ideas shine — we’re cheering you on every step of the way!

This school district has always offered small-town charm while providing students with big-time opportunities. Our athletic programs, extracurriculars, and the art and music programs go far beyond what you’d expect from a ‘small town’ district. The real magic of Livonia is the community support and collaboration. People here don’t just attend games, concerts, and events—they get involved. We all work together to create the best possible experience for our students. I was incredibly excited and fortunate when the opportunity arose for me to return home and teach music in the place that had given me so much. I love teaching music. I love teaching in this town. And the community support is unmatched. 🎭➕ From the Mean Girls Stage to the Real Mathletes Stage! ➕🎭 Life imitated art today as Mean Girls cast members Kallen M. and McKenna C. swapped the stage for the scoreboard, competing in the Monroe County All-Star Math Meet at Nazareth College! 🏆📊 Just like in the musical, they joined forces with the top Mathletes from Geneseo, Cal-Mum, and York—representing the GV BOCES South division as the highest-scoring math competitors in the region. Congratulations Matthew Z.! Matthew was presented with Senator Helming's 2025 Youth Leadership Recognition Award at a special ceremony on March 7!
