🏒 Varsity Lakers Hockey lost to Batavia Notre Dame United last night in a game that was close to the bitter end. Highlights of the game included a hat trick for Shane Melead and 3 assists for Derrick Wigley. At the end of the third period we were tied 6-6 but the Lakers took a penalty in the final 2 minutes which resulted in a power play goal for Batavia with only 12 seconds left in the game. It was a hard fought game and the boys played fast and strong all 3 periods with very few errors. Varsity Lakers play today at 4:30 in Scottsville vs RH/SOTA, Varsity Lakers will also play tomorrow at 7pm at SUNY Brockport vs Portside Royals and again on Saturday at 3pm at Geneseo vs HFL/Brighton. 🏀 Varsity Boys Basketball lost to Haverling 67-62. The host Bulldogs could not hold on to their halftime lead as the Haverling Rams outscored Livonia 38 to 32 in the second half. Livonia went to the line 21 times but only could convert 8 of them. Evan Swan led all scorers with 20 points, 12 in the 4th, and 7 rebounds. Chris Coyle added 10 points and 6 assists, Jake Watkins 10 points and 5 steals and Jack Kearney scored 10 points and 6 boards.

School CLOSED tomorrow, Friday, February 4, 2022. The National Weather Service winter storm warning continues through tomorrow at 1 PM. This evening's forecasts indicate that the heaviest snow will continue into the overnight with persisting snowfall throughout the morning. This will cause adverse weather conditions tomorrow morning and require significant snow removal throughout the school day. In order to give families time to prepare, we are making the call tonight as it seems clear based on current conditions and forecasts that tomorrow morning will continue to be a concern and clean up efforts will likely continue throughout the day. Wednesday Night Wrap-up 🏀 Livonia Varsity boys baskeball beat Hornell 64-60. Livonia's Chris Coyle scored 21 of his game high 27 points in the second half, including three three’s in the fourth quarter to pace the Bulldogs past Hornell. Bulldogs were up 59-58 with 32 seconds to go and Coyle got fouled on an attempted three pointer. He knocked down all three foul shots to put it to a two possession game, 62-58. Livonia stopped Hornell on their ensuing possession and the Red Raiders needed to foul get the ball back. Livonia’s Justin Skelly eventually was fouled with :10 seconds left and hit both foul shots in a 1 and 1 situation, to put the Bulldogs up 64-58. Livonia was 7-7 from the FT line in the fourth quarter. Hornell put back a missed shot as time expired to end the game at 64-60. Gennaro Picco led Hornell with 24 points. Livonia’s Evan Swan had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs. “Great win for us tonight, a win that we very much needed. The guys played with great intensity and played very well together tonight in a place that is tough to play at. Very proud of our effort tonight!”

Tuesday Night Wrap-up 🏒 Varsity Lakers hockey lost 8-5 to Aquinas last night, away at Lakeshore. It was an exciting game with action at both ends of the ice. 🚨🚨🚨🚨 Derrick Wigley scored an amazing four goals in the game. Christian Rumfola (Avon) had a 3 point game with 1 goal and 2 assists. Shane Melead notched 3 assists, while AJ Agosto (Geneseo), Jack Ruter (Avon), and Nick Teachout each had 1 assist. Nick Lipome (Avon) was in net and logged an impressive 28 saves. Varsity Lakers play RH/SOTA on Thursday at 4:30 in Scottsville. 🏀 JV and Varsity Lady Bulldogs couldn’t surpass Hornell last night but not for lack of trying. Final score Varsity 61-58. Thursday Night Wrap-up 🏒 Thursday night the Varsity Lakers fell to a tough HFL/ER/Brighton team. The lone Laker goal was scored by Joey Cinquino (Livonia) with assists awarded to Christian Rumfola (Avon) and Jack Ruter (Avon). The Lakers take on Irondequoit tonight at 7:00 in Geneseo, we will be celebrating senior night starting at 6:30, please come out and support our Lakers! 🏒 Wednesday night the JV Lakers improved to 5-1-1 on the season with a 5-0 win over Wayne. Scoring for the Lakers was Jack Noto (Geneseo), Fletch Kingsbury (Avon), Matt Mulvaney (Livonia) each with 1, and Joey Cinquino (Livonia) with 2. Livonia defensmen Ryan O'Duffy and Travin Ellison were crucial in securing the shut out. We had many different players dish out assists, a total team effort! Nick Lipome (Avon) had the shut out in net. JV Lakers will play in Brockport on Saturday at 7. 🏀 Tough night in the Tom Downey Gymnasium. York defeated Junior Varsity Lady Bulldogs but it literally came down to the last shot. Varsity fell to York 58-52 in a very competitive game. York ran the court tonight in Livonia but great games all around!

🚨🚨It's Senior Night for our Lakers this evening! Congratulations to Shane, Nick and Derrick! The game starts at 7 at SUNY Geneseo. Here are some stats to celebrate our hockey players! 🏒 Shane is a Lakers captain and has played 70 varsity Lakers games. Shane has accumulated 78 points for the Lakers, 42 goals and 36 assists. Shane holds a "goals in a game" Lakers record of 5 goals in 1 game! Which he scored against Spencerport his junior year. Shane is on track to place in the top 10 of all time leading scorers for the Lakers by the end of the season. 🏒 Derrick, has played for the varsity team since 8th grade, Derrick has played over 80 games with the Lakers and has a career 16 points, 5 goals and 11 assists. 🏒 Nick has played in 63 varsity Lakers games since freshman year and has 4 points for the Lakers, 3 goals and 1 assist.

Weekend Wrap-up 🏀 Friday, January 21 Girls Varsity basketball had a victory over LCAA-D1 opponent Haverling 57-45 bringing tje season record to 11-3. The Dawgs were led by Junior Kylie Buckley with 25 points and 14 boards. Senior point guard Kelsey Stewart added another 12 points with 4 assists and 2 steals. 🏀 The Boys Varsity Basketball team lost to Haverling 49-51 on Friday night. Evan Swan hit two free throws for the Bulldogs to tie the game 49-49 with 14 seconds left. Haverling’s Austin Durand hit the game winning shot with under 5 seconds left and Livonia’s attempt to win the game at end of regulation was no good. Swan and Chris Coyle led Livonia with 16 points a piece. 🏊‍♂️ Boys Swim and Dive won Counties (info in previous post) 🎿 Boys Varsity Skiing swept the day at Swain. (info in previous post).
