🌞It was another day of science fun at Vitale Park today for the second half of the kindergarten! 🧪🌿 They learned about fur and bones, the water cycle, fish, birds, had a scavenger hunt, and discovered pond minibeasts! 🦴💧🐟🐦🔍🐛 They even had a chance to catch some fish!

Mr. Crabb held his Spring Informance today and invited 4th and 5th-graders to watch along with family and friends. The students did an awesome job on stage!

🐸🌳 On June 4th it was Mrs. Jones and the Coyle/Litteer crew's trip to Cummings Nature Center!
🎉Yesterday, 30 4th and 5th graders participated in our annual Challenge 24 competition against Wheatland-Chili. This is the 27th year of the competition! 🥳 These students have been practicing every week since January with Mrs. Petelin, Mr. Cripps, and Mr. Lane.
🏆 This year, Livonia won the competition for the first time since 2011! 🎉 The top scorer for 4th Grade was Owen S., and the top scorer for 5th Grade was Tessa P. 🥇 The overall top scorer for our school was 4th grader McKenna J. 🏅 We are all very proud of their efforts! 👏
We celebrated all their hard work with a trip to Tom Whal’s afterward. 🍔🍦 Thanks to the Friends of Livonia for sponsoring this event! 🙌

📢 The Livingston County Sheriff's Office visited Livonia Elementary School today to celebrate this year's "Do The Right Thing" award winner!
🏆 The "Do The Right Thing" award honors students for their positive actions and good deeds. This year, Deputy Harrington nominated 5th grader Howie J. for his kindness and help as a "hallway hero" in our "Bulldog Buddy" program. Howie went out of his way to help a struggling student without being asked, showing his great heart and leadership!

🐸🌳 Ms. Forsythe's class had an amazing day at Cummings Nature Center yesterday! Our adventure focused on Native Frogs. We hiked through ponds, pools, and woodland areas, searching for frogs, toads, salamanders, and even snakes. 🐍 We became frog experts, learning about different types of frogs, their life cycles, camouflage, and the differences between frogs and toads. It was a wonderful day! 🐸✨
Girls on the Run had their 5K on Saturday morning. Great job Livonia!

The Livonia Elementary Library welcomed children’s author Mylisa Larson for a day filled with stories and creativity. Larson, known for her enchanting and heartwarming books, captivated students with her storytelling and inspired young minds to explore their own writing potential.
From the moment Mylisa Larson stepped into the library, excitement buzzed in the air. Students were eager to meet the author. Throughout the day, Larson conducted several reading sessions, bringing her characters to life with expressive voices and animated gestures. The children were enthralled, hanging on to every word. These sessions not only highlighted the joy of reading but also showcased the power of storytelling in sparking imagination.
In addition to reading her books, Larson led interactive writing workshops. She shared insights into her writing process, from brainstorming ideas to developing characters and crafting a plot. The students participated eagerly, asking questions and sharing their own story ideas. Larson provided personalized feedback, encouraging each child to find their unique voice and style.
