After reading a few chapters of Esperanza Rising, some of Mrs. Sykes' students expressed an interest in learning how to crochet. Most of them agreed that "after 15 minutes of frustration comes a lifetime of zen," describing their new skill as stress-relieving and addicting. Seeing how these students have been transformed into a "crocheting community," more want to learn. Some students are now purchasing their own supplies or bringing in supplies to share. Some take their work to lunch, crochet on the bus, or work during recess. We would absolutely welcome any donations of crochet hooks and unused yarn!
May the fourth be with you! Happy Star Wars Day!
