Sometimes, it’s just not your night, and that’s the way it was for the Academic Challenge Bowl team on Wednesday. Their first match was against RH Burger. It came down to the final question, at which point Burger took the win 155-150. In the second match, Twelve Corners proved once again to be a formidable opponent, beating Livonia 285-155. (We’ll get ‘‘em next time!) The next, and final, competition of the regular season is on March 29 at Victor. Top scorers on Wednesday were Matthew P (40 points), Peyton B (35 points), and Justin F (20 points). You can find scores, stats, and schedules at http://www.nymasterminds.com/acb/22-23ACBR4.html
The MasterMinds team had a home field (home court? homeroom?) advantage on Thursday as Livonia hosted a night of competition. The JV team started out strong with a 270-0 win over Keshequa, and they closed out the night by beating Honeoye 220-110. The varsity team said, “We’ll match those victories with two of our own!” They topped Honeoye 225-100 and knocked off Keshequa 195-140. The top scorers were Ellie D (140 points), Kate A (70 points), and Thomas C (50 points). We also saw two brand new additions, Aurora F and Matthew P, jump right into the action with points of their own. The next, and final, night of regular season competition is on 3/23 at Keshequa. You can find scores, stats, and schedules at http://www.nymasterminds.com/league/22-23R9.html
