Today in Mr. Greene’s health 6 class, the students were able to try out various stress relief techniques. They were able to try out deep breathing, guided imagery and progressive muscle relaxation. The kids ended the class by experiencing a full guided meditation.
Tomorrow is TAKE A STAND Day! We encourage students and staff to wear pink and take a stand to be kind! #thinkpink #bekind
❓ Why do we wear pink? The idea comes from two Nova Scotia HS students in 2007. When a fellow student was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, they decided to take a stand. They went out and bought pink shirts to give to fellow students to show their support. Pink shirts have now come to symbolize taking a stand against bullying.

The MasterMinds teams kicked off their seasons Thursday night at Keshequa. The varsity team defeated Mount Morris 205-110 in their first match, followed up by a 225-80 victory against Belfast. JV started strong by beating Belfast 275-10, and kept things rolling with a 280-20 win against Mount Morris. Impressive wins all around, since varsity is an entirely new squad, and JV is made up of 9th graders. Top scorers for the night were Ellie D (180 points), Kate A (110 points), and Grace D (65 points). You can find stats and schedules at https://www.nymasterminds.com/league/22-23R9.html
On Tuesday, the Academic Challenge Bowl team was back in action. In their first match, York and Livonia battled in a tight contest until Livonia pulled away to win 380-300. Livonia faced LeRoy in the second match and won 480-210. Due to a scheduling conflict, the team had to forfeit the last match against Geneseo. Therefore, the team is currently 4-1, with one more night of competition left (Nov. 17) before playoffs. Leading scorers on Tuesday were Matthew P (250 points), Justin F (150 points), and Audrey D (60 points). Congratulations!
Two speakers from CASA (Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse) shared their stories of addiction and recovery with juniors and seniors on Friday and provided a connection for seeking help. #communityconnections
