The MasterMinds teams picked up right where they left off in 2021 by taking all 4 matches yesterday afternoon. Varsity won 220-80 against Honeoye and beat Belfast 160-125. JV took down the same opponents 230-10 and 190-(-5), respectively. (That score is correct! Great googly-moogly 👹!) Both teams remain undefeated. (A special shout out to the Austins for stepping up to deliver the pizza!) Check out standings, stats, and schedules at http://www.nymasterminds.com/league/21-22R9.html

Every team has one of those nights, and last night was finally that night for the ACB team. They lost to Rush-Henrietta Roth 170-70 in the first match and then fell to Victor 260-90. Besides having to forfeit a match in the fall league, these are the first losses for this team. They’ll get a chance to rebound on 2/16 at RH Roth. Leading scorers were Miranda B, Matthew P, and Owen A, each with 20 points. It was great to see all the parent support! On January 11, Livonia’s ICE (Interscholastic Competition in English) team competed against five other area schools, each with three individual teams of three, in the categories of dramatic presentation, creative writing and literary interpretation. Each of our competitors represented Livonia Middle-High School with exceptional talent, class, and bulldog spirit!
Individually, students ranked as follows: In the category of dramatic reading, Angela Tewksbury earned 6th place and Lillian Jarzabek earned 5th place. In the category of literary interpretation, Sara Perdue earned 6th place and Eliot Gavin earned 5th place. And finally in the category of creative writing, Katelyn Austin earned 4th place and Jacob Davis earned 2nd place!
Our Blue Team, which consisted of Eliot Gavin, Lillian Jarzabek and Jacob Davis, proudly came home with the 3rd place trophy!
The ICE Competition was a fun-filled day filled with friendly--but fierce--competition, lots of laughs, and genuine support for each other. Another great day to be a bulldog! English rocks!
Has your family filled out the Digital Equity Survey? This will be yearly NYSED requirement for each student and due again next fall. Access the survey through Schooltool https://st.edutech.org/livonia/
