Partnering with the Alliance for Decision Education, we are one of five schools in the nation that received a grant to create a college, career, and life decision-making incubator course.
On Tuesday, the Academic Challenge Bowl team traveled to Victor to wrap up its second season of the year. Competition has been tough, and Livonia headed into the afternoon looking for its first victory in this league. They took care of business in the first match, beating HFL 190-180. The Bulldogs came from behind multiple times before winning it in sudden death OT. The second match was a 200-100 loss to Victor. In match number three, Livonia erased a large deficit late in the game. Unfortunately, Martha Brown (the school) got the last two questions right to seal a 255-165 win. Finally, in the last match of the day, Livonia took down Victor 250-170. It’s been a great year, as the team won the championship in the fall league and slowly found its footing in the spring. It’s a bittersweet farewell as we lose several 8th graders (we’ll see them in MasterMinds next year, though), but the future looks bright with a great squad of 6th and 7th graders holding things down next year! Top scorers on Tuesday were Nolan C (120 points), Peyton B (40 points), and Audrey D (20 points). There’s one last team gathering this year, as we’ll celebrate on Wednesday afternoon with ice cream sundaes! What a great crew! - Coach Scheuer
