🎷🎺🎹 Last night, we were thrilled to welcome back some Livonia Music Legends to the Middle/High School for the 2024 Robert Leader Jazz Festival. If you went to school here in the '80s, '90s, or even early 2000s and participated in band and chorus, these faces might look familiar (maybe just slightly older - Sandi said this picture could be called the good, the bad and the ugly, but didn't say who was who).
✨ Sandi Szymanski, Doug Hawk, and Bob Leader ✨ all returned to the stage to perform "Gospel John" with the Alumni Jazz Band! The group was also joined by Rochester's renowned jazz trumpeter Herb Smith. What an incredible night of outstanding music!

As we are enjoying these Spring days, we wanted to remind everyone to please avoid the campus areas that are under construction for the capital project. In particular, there should be no trespassing along the National Grid easement on the school property for the duration of the project. National Grid has been and will continue to be on site working on their easement. For everyone's safety, please find an alternate route to enjoy our campus trail systems and open spaces.

A Proclamation on Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week, 2024
Every day, police officers pin on their shields and walk out the door, rushing into harm’s way to keep the rest of us safe. Being a police officer is more than what they do — it is who they are. On Peace Officers Memorial Day and during Police Week, we recognize the incredible courage of our Nation’s police officers and honor the fallen heroes, whose ultimate sacrifice we can never repay.

💜 April is designated as the Month of the Military Child or Purple Up! For Military Kids. Across the nation school districts will celebrate the important role military children play while their service member parents serve our country by wearing the color purple. Purple is a combination of Army green, Marine Corps red, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, and Navy blue; it is the appropriate color to represent military children from all branches. On average, military children attend 6-9 schools between grades K-12. You can find out more here: https://www.nysed.gov/curriculum-instruction/month-military-child.
💗 Tomorrow, April 17th, we invite you to join us, wear pink, and Take A Stand to respect the environment. #TakeAStand #WearPink
