👓Mrs. Ellison's class is wearing glasses this week to support the students who need them and are embarrassed to wear them. Everyone was so proud to be in their glasses today. Wearing glasses can sometimes make students feel self-conscious, so showing solidarity and support in this way can help boost their confidence and create a positive environment for everyone. Acts of empathy and inclusivity like this can make a big difference in school!

3rd Grade students had a fantastic and enriching experience with the World Communities Concert presented by Dave Ruch! Engaging with different cultures through music and language, and experiencing instruments like the Indian tabla drum provide a unique experience and an appreciation of diversity.

🥔🍀 Potato Day Fun with Mrs. Carey and Mrs. Pickering's Kindergarten Classes! 🍀🥔 The two classes dove into the world of spuds, coloring their toppings on paper potatoes before indulging in the real deal! 🎨✨ 🖍️🤩 From butter to bacon, sour cream to cheese, these kiddos had some serious decisions to make! 🧈🥓🧀 But the best part? After enjoying their potato creations, they teamed up to graph their toppings as a group. 📊📈 Learning about math and food? Count us in! 🤓🍽️ Did you know Potato Day has a special connection to St. Patrick's Day? 🍀 That's right! It's a nod to history, honoring the resilience of those affected by the potato famine. 🌱💚 So, not only did our students have a blast, but they also gained a little insight into the past. 🕰️📚 Here's to delicious learning adventures! 🥔✨

♻️The Litteer Coyle Welch (LCW) Plastics Collection Crew had our 4th counting party on March 14th. Everyone worked hard and collectively as we had the most bags EVER! We counted 3400 bags this time! Our grand total for the year stands at....9295 bags saved from the landfills! Thanks again to Wegmans in Geneseo for recycling our bags and thanks to all of the Livonia students for striving to make our planet a better and cleaner place.

🏆📖The Livonia Elementary School Page Turners team captured first place today at their Spring Competition in Perry! They also placed first for the Eastern Division which means they advance to the Regional Competition on April 23, 2024 at Pavilion. It was an excellent team effort reading, reviewing, and studying the questions they created for the book lists. Congratulations to all for the time, effort, and dedication they put into Page Turners this year so far. Good luck next month and keep reading!
