Superintendent’s Message
Building on Our Momentum
This fall has been an exciting one for Livonia. You can feel the energy across our schools as we celebrate the progress we’ve made together and look ahead to what’s next. The completion of our capital project is in sight, and it has already transformed how students learn, play, and connect. From the ribbon cuttings at the Saunders Sports Complex and the dedication of the J. David Woodruff Memorial Plaza to the upgraded learning spaces across campus, these changes reflect years of thoughtful planning and community support. Thank you for your continued support of LCS!
At the Middle/High School, our new cell phone policy has made a noticeable difference. Classrooms are more focused, conversations are more meaningful, and students are engaging with one another in ways that remind us why personal connection matters. This shift is a credit to our staff, students, and families working together.
This season also brought moments of celebration and pride. From a spirited Homecoming Week and strong athletic performances to welcoming our new student members of the Board of Education, Sydney and Matthew. Their insight and perspective are already helping us strengthen how we listen to and represent the student voice. Additionally, Dr. Calzi, M/HS Principal, and I have formed a student leader advisors council that we will meet with each month to engage with and discuss their vision for what our schools can become with a focus on what is working and where we can get better.
As we wrap up this project, we’re already planning for the future. A committee of staff, students, and community members will begin shaping the next capital project proposal, which we expect to bring to voters in December 2026. Our goal is to continue building on what’s working and ensure our facilities support both today’s learners and tomorrow’s opportunities.
Everything we do connects back to our mission and vision: helping every student achieve and thrive, and preparing them to lead and contribute beyond our walls. Through our strategic plan, we’re keeping our focus on student growth, strong relationships, and continuous improvement. Together, we’re building on a foundation of pride, partnership, and purpose that keeps Livonia moving forward.
Best,
Dr. Jeremy Lonneville
