Water Testing
Lead Testing of School Drinking Water
New York State requires all public school districts and Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) to test drinking water for lead contamination every three years. The current testing period runs from Jan. 1, 2023 through Dec. 31, 2025. Compliance testing can be completed any time during that period and school districts may conduct their compliance testing at different school buildings over the duration of the three-year compliance period, including testing different school buildings in different years.
In compliance with these regulations, testing in Livonia Central Schools has begun. Districts must take action if any fixture exceeds the lead action level. It must be immediately taken out of service until actions are taken to mitigate the lead levels.
The Livonia Central School District makes all lead testing results accessible to the community.
