Livonia award winnersLivonia had an exceptional night at the NYSCLSA State Student Leadership Conference in Niagara Falls, with both staff and students earning statewide honors for their leadership, service, and commitment.

Staff Awards

šŸ”¹ Dr. Calzi, MHS Principal – Administrator of the Year
This award recognizes New York State administrators whose dedication to student leadership development and support for student activities has made a significant impact on school communities.
šŸ”¹ Mrs. Heather Cotraccia, MHS Math Teacher & Student Council Advisor – 2025 Terry D’Imperio Advisor of the Year
This award honors advisors who demonstrate outstanding commitment to student leadership development in NYS. If you’ve ever attended a Student Council event, you’ve likely seen Mrs. Cotraccia leading, organizing, and supporting students—often on evenings, weekends, and whenever help is needed.

This year, the award was renamed in honor of retired Livonia Math Teacher and former Student Council AdvisorĀ Mrs. Terry D’Imperio, whose mentorship helped shape many of our current teacher-leaders. Her legacy continues to influence leadership work in Livonia and across New York State.

Student Awards

We are proud to celebrate three Livonia students who were recognized for their leadership achievements:
šŸ”¹ Matthew P. – Dale Hawley Leadership Award
Given to one student from five different states nationwide, this award honors students demonstrating leadership at the local, state, and national levels. Eligible recipients must be current board members or attendees of the NASC/NatStuCo/VISION national conference.
šŸ”¹ Jack S. – NYS CLSA Student Recognition Award and the Kelly Jeffords Outstanding Student Leader Award
šŸ”¹ Madison W. – NYS CLSA Student Recognition Award
These students have shown a strong commitment to leadership, service, and representing Livonia with excellence.
