Climate Connections Collaboration

A student presents a question about maple trees on a smartboard in a classroom.🌿🍁Today, some of our Climate Connections students headed over to the Elementary School to lead an interactive lesson for our 4th and 5th grade classes as part of our mapling program—and they absolutely knocked it out of the park!

These student leaders created a hands-on experience that kept our younger learners engaged, asking questions, and thinking like scientists while showing true leadership.

👏 Presenters included:
Blaine B.
Menzo P.
Ava B.
Anna F.
Onyx F.
Brielle A.

Our elementary students learned how to identify maple trees not only by their leaves, but also by their branch structure—because how do you tell what kind of tree it is in the winter? They also discovered how large a tree must be to tap and why maple trees are the primary trees used for syrup production.
We love seeing learning connect across grade levels like this—great work, everyone
